Design & Planning
The client wanted to enclose two openings—one large (approx. 6’ x 8’) and one smaller (approx. 3’ x 8’)—without creating bulky swing-door interference. We explored options ranging from standard French doors to higher-end custom solutions, ultimately landing on matching bi-fold glass doors to maximize usable space when open and provide a clean, built-in look when closed.
Because the home has detailed trim and nearby electrical, we also ruled out a pocket door approach to avoid a much larger wall/trim rebuild.
Scope of Work
✔ Sourced custom TruStile bi-fold glass doors sized to each opening
✔ Coordinated ordering, lead time, delivery, and install planning
✔ Installed matching door sets to close off two interior areas
✔ Pre-finish planning to match existing off-white/cream trim (spray finish off-site for higher quality)
✔ Hardware plan confirmed (dummy handles/pulls to match existing home style)
The Build
Once doors arrived, our team completed installation across a weekend window, focusing on tight alignment, smooth operation, and a clean finish that blends with the surrounding trim. The bi-fold configuration delivered the “open when you want it, closed when you need it” functionality the homeowners were aiming for.
The Result
A polished, high-end office enclosure solution with custom bi-fold glass doors that preserve natural light, improve privacy, and open wide without taking over the room.
